    Dr. Einas Osman – Assistant Professor of Medical Microbiology

    Dr. Einas Osman is an Assistant Professor of Medical Microbiology at the Department of Medical Laboratory Sciences, College of Applied and Health Sciences, A'Sharqiyah University, Oman. She brings over 12 years of experience in teaching and supervising undergraduate and postgraduate students across various universities in Sudan. Dr. Osman earned her PhD in Molecular Biology from the University of Khartoum, where her research focused on antimicrobial resistance (AMR) in gram-negative bacteria. She also holds an MSc in Medical Laboratory Sciences (Microbiology specialization) from the University of Medical Science and Technology and a BSc in Medical Laboratory Sciences from Sudan University of Science and Technology.

    Her primary research interest lies in the genetic and epidemiological characterization of hospital-acquired infections, particularly those caused by resistant gram-negative pathogens. Her work contributes to the global understanding of antimicrobial resistance and has resulted in several scientific publications highlighting unique epidemiological patterns in bacterial pathogens.

    In addition to her academic and research roles, Dr. Osman has contributed significantly to curriculum development and postgraduate program planning. She served as Postgraduate Coordinator at the Faculty of Medical Laboratory Sciences, Ibn Sina University in Khartoum, for four years, where she played a key role in strengthening the postgraduate education framework.

    Dr. Osman’s commitment to research and education continues to impact the fields of infectious diseases and bacterial genetics, making her a respected voice in the medical microbiology community.

  • 6.2 Promotion Criteria:

    - Applicants must have a minimum of six (6) refereed international journal papers indexed in Scopus if their discipline is taught in English, or indexed in Scopus and/or ARCIF if their discipline is taught in Arabic, all of which must have been published after attaining the rank of Assistant Professor, with A'Sharqiyah University affiliation, at least three (3) of which must have been published by the applicant as the corresponding or first author, and all of which must be in the candidate's area of specialization.

  • Dr. Einas A. Osman has established a distinguished and impactful research portfolio in the critical field of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) in Sudan.
